(ooc: May 2nd. Open only to Starfire and Harriet.)
Suffice to say, Harriet was enjoying her life away from home.
Sure there were times when she missed her mom. There were times when she wished she hadn't left the home of her mom's friends. When it came down to it, though, Harriet did enjoy being on her own. She liked being an agent even if there were a couple of allies she disliked, and she liked that she had freedom to do as she pleased. Most of all, Harriet liked that she had an apartment to live in with one other agent.
It was morning when Harriet decided to really explore her new home. She had gotten to the apartment fairly late the previous night, so she hadn't had the opportunity to say hello to her roommate. In any case, she was hungry. Harriet wanted to make breakfast to surprise her roommate when she woke up. So, the brown-haired little girl had headed into the kitchen and was in the process of pulling out bowls and utensils to make breakfast.
"Now let's see... pancakes or omelets?" Harriet asked aloud. Pancakes were seeming like the better option, at least in her mind, so she put the bowl she had pulled out on the counter and headed toward the little pantry. There had to be pancake mix in there somewhere! Harriet had gotten so in to looking for ingredients by that point that she didn't even realize she might have woken her roommate with her noisy retrieval of necessary items.

Starfire was awaken by the noise, but having lived with Beast Boy and Cyborg. she had gotten used to it. She rubbed her eyes and walked out into the kitchen. "Are you looking for something?" she asked. Her green eyes wandered to the ingridents that were set on the table. "Oh, are you making breakfast?"

"Hmm?" Harriet glanced over her shoulder after retrieving the pancake mix she needed and finally saw Starfire. The redhead from the previous day! Well, at least her roommate was someone she could deal with. At least it wasn't that strange pony or the bat boy. "Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing! I wanted to surprise you, but... looks like that's not going to happen." Harriet said. Not that she was mad. She didn't mind Starfire knowing what was going on.
Harriet brought the mix over to the counter and set it down with the rest of the ingredients. "I was gonna make pancakes. You can help if you want... uh... Starfire, right?" Harriet asked. She wanted to make sure she had her roommate's name right. Sure she'd met her the previous day, but things had gotten crazy and so she might have forgotten a thing or two.

"Oh yes." Starfire said happily. "And you are...Harriet correct?" she asked. "The young agent that got Naveen's approval. The youngest one." she frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry that was not what i meant to say. I am glad to have you as a roommate." At the mention of helping make food, the girl's eyes went wide with delight.
"you would let me help? Oh glorious!" she said flying around happily. "I am never allowed to make breakfast back home."

"Yep, I'm Harriet Campbell. Naveen was like putty when I was done with him." Harriet replied. She had to admit she had been quite pleased with herself. How often did one get to say that they had convinced their leader to let them join on the mere threat of staying in their office all day and all night? Back to the subject at hand, though, Harriet nodded in response to Starfire's second question. It would be like cooking with mom again. That notion made Harriet very happy.
"Sure you can help! Cooking is more fun with lots of people. That's what my mom used to say, anyway." Harriet said. It was true that her mother hadn't been the best cook, but surely she was better. She was probably better than that guy, anyway. She'd never seen him cook very much before, anyway.

"Oh how fun." she said. "Have you cooked before, i have tried but well..let's just say my friends do not find my food how you earthlings say...appetizing." she frowned before looking at the ingridents in front of her. "You forgot mustard."

Harriet nodded. She had been the one responsible for cooking while her mother was sick and when that guy wasn't around, so she knew a little about cooking. Not enough to consider herself a master, but enough to know somewhat about what she was doing. "Sure, I've cooked before. Mom put me in charge a couple of times before back home. Making pancakes shouldn't be too hard." Harriet said.
What surprised her was the fact that Starfire thought she had forgotten mustard. Did mustard go in pancakes? Well, Harriet didn't know for certain. She didn't watch what her mother had put into what she was making before, so Harriet was just kind of winging it. If Starfire thought they needed mustard, then they'd put mustard in. "Okay, I'll get some. You can start by putting that bag of pancake mix into the bowl. Then we can start adding ingredients." Harriet said. She headed toward the fridge when she was finished speaking and retrieved a container of mustard. She knew mustard was zesty at the very least, so maybe it would give the pancakes extra kick!

Starfire clapped her hands. "Glorious. I love mustard. It is so delicious." she said rubbing her stomach. 'What else can we add into these cakes of the pan." she said looking through the kitchen. What did one put into pancakes. Really? What would be perfect for it.

"What about chocolate chips? Oh! And we should put in fruit punch to make them all fruity and delicious!" Harriet exclaimed. That would be a great substitute for milk. Harriet retrieved some fruit punch as well and brought it over with the other ingredients. Since the pancake mix powder was already in the bowl, Harriet took the liberty of adding the mustard and looked to the eggs she had brought over earlier. How many eggs was she supposed to put in? Three sounded good. The trouble was that Harriet didn't quite have the art of cracking eggs down. This would be where Starfire could help.
"Can you crack an egg? I've tried in the past, but apparently I'm just not that good at it." she said. Her mom had laughed and told her that she would teach her the proper method when she grew older. That, of course, wasn't going to happen now. She'd just have to let Starfire teach her. What harm would there be in doing that?

"These pancakes are already starting to sound yummy in my tummy." the red head alien said with a bright cheery smile, it didn't take much to make Starfire smile. "Cracking an egg?" she said titling her head. "I have never tried to crack one, but i bet I can try." she said raising her hand to pick up one of the eggs and shooting her star bolts from her eyes at it, sending a very yoke-like mess around the apartment.
"Did i do it right?" she asked, getting some of the white stuff out of her hair

The sound of an egg exploding was enough to cause Harriet to squeak a little in fear. However, she couldn't necessarily be mad at Starfire for startling her. She hadn't anticipated the redhead to actually make the egg explode! Harriet looked into the bowl and stared at its contents. There appeared to be some bits of egg within it, including a bit of shell, so she guessed it would be okay. At length, Harriet laughed a little. It was just like cooking with her mom again.
"That's good enough. Add the other two in, and then we'll just have to add the chocolate chips and fruit punch. ...And anything else we think we should add." Harriet said. How much fruit punch did they need to add? Harriet glanced at the recipe on the back of the pancake mix bag and tried to see where the exact measurement was. Her conclusion was that they needed half a cup's worth. "Should we put the chocolate chips in first, or the fruit punch?" she asked.

"I would say fruit punch then chocolate chips because maybe we should stir the liquids and then add the soild stuff like what is this "baking soda" she looked at the strange package. "I thought soda was a liquid that you drink not eat..." Huh. Earthlings sure had some strange things that they eat and drink. "I swear, i will never understand this strange custom."

"Baking soda?" Harriet repeated. What was baking soda exactly? Harriet couldn't remember if her mother had ever mentioned it much before, so she was clueless on that matter. She was trying her own hand at adding one of the eggs to the mix, succeeding in cracking it but causing the egg to end up on the counter as well as in the bowl along with bits of shell. She grimaced, but decided it wouldn't be too important. How much could a little shell hurt? "Maybe it means we're supposed to add a special kind of soda as well as the fruit punch." Harriet suggested.

"OOOH I know a really good soda!" Starfire said flying to the kitchen. Pulling out a large bottle of what appeared to be orange colored soda. "Let's use this! Make it really fruity! We can be healthy and sweet at the same time!"

"That sounds like a great idea!" Harriet exclaimed. One final egg had been added, and Harriet was just pouring in some fruit punch into one of the two measuring cups she had on the table. "You can add the orange soda, and I'll add the fruit punch. Then all we'll have left to do is add the chocolate chips. ...And mixing everything together, of course!" Harriet said. She had no idea how the pancakes would turn out, but gosh darnit she was hungry and wanted to make breakfast. They sounded like they would be good with all the fruity goodness and chocolate.
