(ooc: May 1st. Open to all assassins. The location is outside the HQ building.)
In the early morning light, Soul's blade seemed to glisten with a sort of luster it seemed to lack during the day. If Soul did notice it, though, he didn't say anything about it. The white-haired assassin was focused solely on the task ahead for the morning. He'd woken up early, something he'd taken to doing since being recruited for the Dark Dreams Agency, and had taken it upon himself to continue honing his skills with his blade. That morning, he'd set up several dummies to work with outside so he could practice hitting weak points. At that moment Soul was standing opposite them and seeming to wait for the perfect moment to make his move.
A sadistic grin spread across the scythe-boy's face and his eyes seemed to sparkle just a bit with anticipation. He was certain that this was the right moment. Wordlessly, Soul ran toward the dummies and began his exercises. His movements were, admittedly, rather graceful to behold. One slice after another, Soul continued to strike down his would-be opponents. When he was finished he was on the other end of his little training field, still grinning sadistically, and he looked over his shoulder to behold his handiwork.
"Heh... not bad." Soul commented. His aim could use a bit of improvement, but on the whole he thought he was improving. He almost wished someone else had been awake to see him. He wondered what they thought.

"Feh."
Kovu stalked the hallways waiting for an assignment. Muscle bulged under fur as he moved himself towards the place where the white haired lad was. His green orbs twitched, staring straight at the youth with the deadly objects. His ears twitched as he spoke. He snorted and lept towards him, barreling a snarl from his maw.
"Not bad, but not good either," he huffed, "Let's see you take someone out with pure muscle, kiddo." He turned his maw upwards into a deadly smile.

Kovu's entrance didn't necessarily surprise Soul. He'd had a feeling he might not have been the only one up, but for the most part had a reason to guess that waking up early wasn't all that favorable to the majority of the assassins. What followed was a proposed task, or perhaps it could have been viewed as a suggestion. Taking someone out without his scythe blade. What? Like with martial arts? Soul didn't know those all that well. He was keen to guess that Kovu might have had something to say about that, too. No matter. Soul was just going to answer as best he could.
"Would that I could, but martial arts aren't really my specialty. I've mainly been focusing on skills with this." Soul motioned to his scythe blade and shrugged a little with his still flesh shoulder. It hadn't ever occurred to him that he might need to use something besides his scythe blade before them. It wasn't as if someone could knock his blade away, either, since it was a part of him. "So, unless you wanna help me out here I'm afraid I might be kind of stuck."

"Hrm. Humans."
Kovu rolled his shoulders forward and yawned. "You've gotta get artificial claws before you can attack. Like that thing there. Claws on a stick." Kovu lifted his paw and unsheathed his deadly claws, the silver things glinting under the moonlight. He blinked and lowered his head towards the lad. His mouth upturned in a grin, tail whipping behind him.
"I suppose I could help you," he said, sheathing his claws again, "I'm always up to help a friend in need."

"Cool, thanks. Glad to know I've at least got someone I can work with here." Soul said. In all actuality, Soul was impressed by Kovu. Working with him would definitely be worth his while if it meant they could both hone their skills as killers. Normally he would have let his arm go back into its fleshy state, but since training wasn't over Soul let it stay as it was. He wanted to see what Kovu had in mind for their training session.
"Name's Soul, by the way. Where should we start?" he asked. Any advice the lion had would be very appreciated. In all respects, Soul still kind of considered himself a beginner. He'd killed before, but having a better way of going about it would have been great.

Shadows of black night had entered the room, of course the room was filled with darkness from the assassins. But the leader of them watched the two, lion and boy from his spot. He made no move to approach the two. He wanted to see first hand if these two could handle a battle of wits and skills. If they could then it would be perfect. If not, well that was not something he couldn't handle. He had to put up with Jack's stupidity and on occasion the box ghost's foolish antics. He was sure he could handle anything that these new comers could come up with.

Harley watched from the hall with interest as the lion and the boy prepared to spar. She'd be lying if she said she didn't want to join. Since Mr. J was in Arkham for the time being, and Harley rarely worked alone it had been a while since she'd seen any adrenaline-pumping action. Not that she was bloodthirsty or anything, but she missed the fun. In the end it was all a joke to her. Two hyena's sat on either side of her, and she pet their heads lovingly. "C'mon, babies, time to make our grand appearance." She said with her usual smile.
Without warning, the harlequin cartwheeled out of the shadows and in between the two assassins. "TaDa!" she said with her hands in the air. She knew she should be serious if they were ever to take her seriously, but it wasn't in Harley's nature. The hyena's ran out after, sitting by her side after she landed. "You guys ain't startin' the party without me, are ya?"
((I hope no one minds how silly she's being ^^"))

"The hell??"
Soul stepped back, rather surprised by Harley's sudden entrance, and tried to keep himself from showing just how off guard she had caught him. He'd been set to start sparing with Kovu, but obviously hadn't been prepared for a woman and two hyenas to show up. Once he got over his initial surprise, Soul looked the woman over. She didn't look too threatening as far as he was concerned. He probably didn't look that way without his blade, either. The early morning light wasn't helping to really show their... ally and what potential she had. A soft 'tch' sound escaped him and he tried to appear casual. He hadn't been caught off guard at all.
"I wouldn't call it a party. We were just getting ready to spar." Soul said. So, who was this woman? How come he hadn't seen her around the headquarters before then? It might have just been the fact that Soul was still relatively green in terms of being an assassin. He still wasn't terribly familiar with who everyone he could consider an ally was.

The snow leopard had been leaping on top of buildings, like the silent assassin he was. Tai-Lung had just finished a mission that a client had assigned him. Luckily for him, it was a swift and easy task, with little trace left behind that it was him who did the killing.
An ear twitched as Tai-Lung froze atop of his current stop. He heard voices, interesting voices. Letting out a small growl to himself, the kung fu warrior peered over the building's edge and looked below to see the party of assassins. "Well, well, well." The large feline hummed to himself. They certainly didn't look like Agents, but he couldn't be too sure. Hastiness and stupidity already got the best of him once, he wouldn't allow it again.
After a few more minutes of good studying, Tai-Lung decided to make himself aqcuanited with the fellow assassins. With a silent leap and summersault in the air, the large leopard landed on the ground with a small thud, surprisingly elegant for his fighting style.
"Well, now what's going on here?" He asked in an interested tone.

Vlad's eyes went wide at the sight of the newcomer. A clown? with hyneas no less? What was this? He certainly had never seen someone like her. "That was some entrance." he said after pushing himself off the wall. He hadn't spoken since the sparring, and the sight of the woman, there weren't many as he thought and now a leopard. Who seemed to have the looks of a killer about him.
"Welcome to Dark Dreams HQ, I am Vlad Masters, your leader."

"Sounds like fun to me!" She said as Soul stated they were sparring. "Since Mistah J's in the slammer I haven't seen any action! I could use a good sparring session." She said, her smile never faltering. The two hyena's let out growls every now and again at the unfamiliar faces, but made no move to attack anybody or anything. When the 'leader' (Harley considered The Joker her only boss, but for now she'd play nice with Vlad) showed himself she looked him over. He was old, older than she was anyways. "Nice ta meetcha V-man! So you run this show, huh?" She asked curiously. It was going to take some getting used to working under a man who was...well, sane, but if she could work with Red, she could work with this guy.
It was then that she realized the anthropomorphic leopard and large man. Her babies didn't seem to like the leopard, but that was to be expected. So long as they behaved themselves she wouldn't intervene. When the man made a comment about a ring master she frowned a bit. Harley was air-headed, but she was smart enough to know when she was being insulted. "Well, ha ha what a jokester." She said childishly. Normally she'd let it go over her head, act like she hadn't heard a thing, but she wanted to show these people she wasn't going to take kindly to being insulted. She wasn't all smiles, after all.

"Yes, quite the comedian." Vlad replied coolly, but he could already see that this man was going to be hard to work with. But the Jester woman, now maybe he could deal with her. Much better. Clearing his throat, he addressed her. "Yes. I'm in charge here, along with my second and command, who should be coming in later on. She's not hard to miss."

Tai-Lung listened to what the interesting man known as Vlad had to say. "So, he's the leader here." The feline thought to himself, his arms now crossed against his muscular chest. With the exception of Master Shifu, Tai-Lung never really worked for anyone. Ever since his master had betrayed him, the snow leopard had been working alone, solo and he had to be truthful was quite content with the freedom. The large cat just swished his tail back and forth in a steady pattern as he listened.
"So, you are the leader around here. Hmm," He replied now flexing his claws and he looked at the other assassins, quite and interesting group indeed. Some goofy like Harley, others looked like deadly killing machines like Hyde and Vlad, so far that is. Looks could always be deceiving.
